WALK 4 THE CURE

WALK 4 THE CURE is a two song CD about fighting back.

Simon Husbands, Patrik Tanner and I recorded WALK 4 THE CURE to help raise money for breast cancer research. Recently Patrik’s mother died from breast cancer. Patrik recorded a very moving CD as a tribute to her, and when I heard it I felt moved to write something of my own.

WALK 4 THE CURE has two songs—Step By Step and New Religion (Survivor Mix).

Generally, a significant social accomplishment is achieved by many individuals who take small steps that, when combined, create an irresistible social force. Like the master masons who designed and constructed medieval cathedrals that took a hundred years to complete, the people who initiate social movements do not always live long enough to see the work come to fruition. They have to rely on their own inner knowledge and conviction that eventually the goal will be realized.

Step By Step and New Religion (Survivor Mix) are songs about that inner knowledge. They are songs about the faith that is needed to put one foot ahead of the other, moving steadily towards the goal, no matter what lies ahead. They are songs about survival, and they are songs about fighting back.

We have not quite developed a business model for WALK 4 THE CURE. We want to sell them (and we want other people to sell them) and donate the proceeds to one of the walks for breast cancer research. We also want to be able to pay for manufacturing costs so we can make some more when our supply of 500 runs out.

So, if you are the Minneapolis and you want a CD to raise funds for your own walk project, let us know and we’ll give you a couple. If you want more, we’re going to charge you $1 so we can use that money to manufacture more CDs. Its up to you to sell the CDs and donate the proceeds. Honor system.

If you want a CD but you do not plan on using it to raise funds, it will cost you $4, including shipping and handling. Of that amount, we’ll send $2 to the walk.
